Billing & Financial Aid

Billing

Program fees will be paid directly to Rutgers University.  Rutgers students can pay their program fees through the Student Accounting Office. (Non-Rutgers students and non-students will make their payments at the Impact Booth in the Campus Center.) Once you have committed to a program and registered in the corresponding course, the program fees will be added to your term bill.  You are responsible for ensuring that your bill is accurate and is paid on time.  This also means that your financial aid refund may not be available once you have been billed for a Learning Abroad Program.  Please plan accordingly to ensure that you will have adequate funding.

You will find the Program Costs on the individual program pages on this site, as well as globaleducation.rutgers.edu as they become available.

Please keep in mind that there may be certain expenses not included in the program costs. This may include some meals, excursions, visa fees, and other travel expenses. Please review what is covered and not covered in the program costs and plan your travel budget accordingly. Consult with your faculty leader with questions about program costs.

Financial Aid

Students receiving Financial Aid at Rutgers should be aware that they are generally eligible for increases in their Financial package to cover additional costs associated with participation in Learning Abroad programs.

A list of expenses for current Learning Abroad programs, for use in applying for additional financial aid, is posted here.

It is very important for you to check with the Financial aid office regarding your current Financial Aid Award Letter and/or eligibility to increase the amount of loans you already receive. If you have not applied for Financial Aid but would like to, you will need to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can access and complete this form online (http://fafsa.gov). For questions concerning your Financial Aid amount, the Rutgers Financial Aid office can be reached at (856)225-6039.
